So I did a little more digging, called the owner of the site and called the corporate office. I was pretty blunt I suppose you could say: "Is this for real?" I asked and "Have you really been able to enroll 60,000 affiliates in 6 moths?"
I was taken by the low key response originating from both parties. "It seems to be appealing to the public particularly during these challenging economic times. Everyone has to eat, everyone needs groceries and groceries is our product. I think that individuals can understand Networking more than ever right now because everyone would use additional money or even a means to replace the income from losing their job. What's more important is that mpbtoday.com has a pretty straight forward pay plan that you only have to personally sponsor two individuals to qualify and stay qualified to earn commissions," the owner of the website explained in her friendly European accent. I asked, "Is it difficult to attract new affiliates into the mpbtoday business opportunity?" She replied, "It's a business that somewhat markets itself but yes, it will take some effort in which to succeed."
I was appealed by her low key approach but I knew there must be more forthcoming and so I pressed to hear the "sales pitch." So I said, "so okay let's say I'm on the fence and can't decide if I think this is an excellent business to sign up, how would you react to that?" She replied, "I believe that almost everyone can see the value in this home based business. Is it the right time in your life? Well, only you can answer that. If you would like, you may give me your email address, I may give you more information in which there is an opt-out link if you no longer wish to receive any more updates."
What's up with this? A company and one of it's affiliates not attempting to shove some hard nosed sales pitch down my throat? I am around MLM, network marketing, home based businesses and every other form of "How to earn money from home" schemes since I was a teenager and I had never heard of such an approach. I wondered about training and support so I challenged by telling her "I don't know anything about how to market and I also would require a lot of training and support."
